Too Darn Hot!

I don’t even need to explain the subject of this email, do I? And this heat is hard on the body and the skin. Hot weather increases water loss from the body which leads to dehydration. Our bodies work harder to keep the core temperature down by opening more blood vessels near the skin, so you’ll start sweating. This puts more strain on the cardiovascular system making us tired and irritable; it can also make your skin sensitive and red.

Because of this, I’m not doing strong peels as long as temps are consistently in the triple digits. Not to worry though because we have lots of possibilities for treatments!

  • Enzymes enzymes enzymes! Enzymes help hydrate and soften the intercellular cement that, when it’s dry and hard, can lead to those “cracks” we sometimes see. They eat up the dead skin that’s already there rather than creating new dead skin making them gentler. I have so many options to choose from that brighten, nurture, soften congestion, and desensitize the skin.

  • Ultimate Relaxation anyone? This treatment improves circulation, softens lines and depuffs while also providing serious stress relief and relaxation. We start with Gua Sha facial massage to drain lymph and unblock fascia and finish up with 30 minutes of LED light therapy. Your skin will look better, and you will feel great!

  • Light Peels. You can try the new Glymed Peptide Perfection Peel for healing while peeling, Mandelic Decongestion Peel, the Oxygen Regenerative Peel that oxygenates tired, dull skin and many others.

I’m sure this weather will change at some point but in the meantime, we’ll be smart with skin and self-care:

  • Drink water

  • Avoid being outside in the heat of the day

  • Be kind to yourself if you feel out of sorts, your body is in overdrive and deserves our gratitude for keeping us going in extreme conditions.

I appreciate everyone’s understanding and can’t wait to see you when you come in!
